Facebook is no questionable a big hot in the past fews years. After overpassing the Internet traffic of Google, reaching 400 million users, and now it was announcing its 500 million users.
500 Million Stories — As of this morning, 500 million people all around the world are actively using Facebook to stay connected with their friends and the people around them. — This is an important milestone for all of you who have helped spread Facebook around the world.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Talks to Diane Sawyer as Website Gets 500-Millionth Member — Zuckerberg Says New Movie is ‘Fiction;’ Claims He Never Agreed to Share Facebook Ownership If Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest one in the world.
But, Facebook also got its another trouble along with the announcement of its big success. Another lawsuit was pointing to its early development, claiming that someone own 84% of Facebook:
Facebook Lawyer ‘Unsure’ Whether Founder Mark Zuckerberg Signed Contract — A lawyer for Facebook Inc. said she was “unsure” whether company founder Mark Zuckerberg signed a contract that purportedly entitles a New York man to 84 percent of the world's biggest social-networking service.
Facebook ‘Suspects’ Zuckerberg Contract Was ‘Forged’ — Facebook says it “strongly suspects” forgery is involved in a contract showing its founder Mark Zuckerberg signed away more than half the rights to Facebook for $1,000 in 2003. The suit to take over the company seven years later is “absurd,” the company said Thursday.
The massive hole in Facebook's latest legal challenge — Mark Zuckerberg says he owes nothing to Paul Ceglia, the man who recently emerged from the woodwork with the extraordinary claim that he owns 84% of Facebook. — Ceglia hired Zuckerberg — then an 18-year-old college freshman …
So success and trouble are always partners. That is proved again.
In this week, iPhone antenna gate got lots of discussions:
Official statement from Research In Motion in response to Apple's iPhone 4 Antennagate propaganda! — I hoped this was coming. Here it is. A joint statement from RIM Co-CEOs in response to misleading comments from Apple made Friday by Steve Jobs at the iPhone 4 press conference:
Steve Jobs say other phones also have similar antenna problem as iPhone 4. Other phone manufactures fought back.
While iPhone got discussing, iPad is still on its hot sale. And the Flipboard for iPad really got popular this week.
First look at “revolutionary” social news iPad app: Flipboard — You've seen Twitter clients like TweetDeck or Seesmic, but you've never seen one like this. — You've seen news readers like NewsGator, Google Reader, or, even, newer ones for iPad like Pulse, but you've never seen one like this.
Later someone thought Flipboard might be illegal.
Is Flipboard Legal? — Social news app Flipboard was yesterday's hot new app, despite—or perhaps because of—technical problems that prevented some features from working. But there might be a bigger snag: Is Flipboard scraping content it doesn't have the rights to?
Microsoft released Windows Phone 7 (name sucks!) in-depth review, but it did not get too much attention.
Windows Phone 7 in-depth preview — It's been a long road, hasn't it? Well, in some respects, it hasn't — in fact, it's only been about two years since development of Windows Phone 7 as we know it today kicked off — but when you consider that this product will be replacing Windows Mobile 6.5, that put things in proper perspective.
And with iPhone and iPad selling well, Apple's revenue report looks really good. And its cash revenue is catching up with Microsoft.
Apple Reports Third Quarter Results — All-Time Record Revenue Earnings Increase 78 Percent — Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2010 third quarter ended June 26, 2010. The Company posted record revenue of $15.7 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion, or $3.51 per diluted share
Mobile Device War is on!
Apple and Microsoft's war field is now on mobile device instead of desktop computer. And Apple is winning. But don't forget that Google is also in this war field with Android. Keep eyes on this war!
